What is All From Abundance?

What is All From Abundance?

There are a few things we can’t stop thinking about - things we wrestle with daily, things God is shaping in us, things we know we’re not alone in navigating.

That’s why we started All From Abundance - an email we send twice each month as a way to process and reflect on the things God is teaching us in our own lives.

Here are some of the topics you can expect from us in each email:

  • Faith - For so long, we thought a walk with God had to look a certain way. If we weren’t checking all the right boxes - praying for a certain amount of time, reading the Bible in a structured way, serving in specific capacities - we felt like we weren’t doing it “right.” But God has been transforming our perspective, showing us that a relationship with Him isn’t about obligation. It’s about abundance.
  • Parenting - God has used parenting to refine us more than anything else in our lives. Every day, we seemingly try to teach our son or daughter something, only to realize it’s the exact lesson God is trying to teach one of us. The scale might be different, but the root issue is always the same. Being parents has been one of the clearest ways God has revealed Himself to us, and we want to share what we’re learning in that process.
  • Marriage - Almost 11 years in, and we’re still figuring it out. Between parenting, work, and life’s demands, we’re constantly navigating how to prioritize each other while giving our kids everything we can. It’s not easy, but we’re committed to learning what it means to fight for connection in the middle of it all.
  • Health - We have a deep passion for exploring health and wellness from a biblical perspective. We believe our bodies are the first thing God gives us to steward, yet we also know how easy it is to make a certain image an idol. We’ve done it well, and we’ve done it poorly. But ultimately, we’re learning to approach health with the same mindset of abundance - honoring God with our bodies while not letting it define us.

We’ve wanted to publicly explore these things for a long time. But a year ago, when this idea first came to us, we didn’t move forward.

Why Didn’t We Start This Sooner?

There were a few reasons we hesitated:

  1. The world is already full of content. Everyone seems to have a blog, podcast, or YouTube channel. The sheer amount of information available today often overwhelms us, and we never wanted to contribute to that noise. The last thing we wanted was to create something that felt like an obligation for others to consume - especially when we, ourselves, have struggled with that same pressure.
  2. We didn’t feel qualified. We aren’t experts in any one of these areas. We’re just two people learning as we go, and the idea of sharing our thoughts felt daunting. Who were we to write about these things?
  3. We wanted to do this from a place of abundance, not ambition. If we were going to step into this, we wanted to do it with joy and purpose - not because we felt like we had to.

What Changed?

Even though we had all these reasons not to start, we couldn’t shake the feeling that we were supposed to.

Not too long ago, we found ourselves pursuing our ambitions, trying to do it all, and burning out in the process. We wondered how we were supposed to balance the passions God placed in our hearts with the responsibilities He called us to steward.

That’s when God gave us the word abundance. And everything shifted.

John 1:16 says, “From His abundance we have received one gracious blessing after another.”

For so long, we lived as if there was never enough - never enough time, energy, wisdom, margin. We saw faith as something to achieve, parenting as something to perfect, marriage as something to maintain, and health as something to master.

But this verse reminded us that we don’t have to strive for what has already been given. We have received “one gracious blessing after another,” not because of our efforts, but “from His abundance.”

This realization became more than just a comforting truth - it became the filter for how we make decisions in our everyday lives.

Now, whether it’s in the way we parent, work, rest, or serve, we find ourselves asking:

“Are we doing this from a place of abundance?”

That simple question has reframed everything for us. And it’s why we’re here now, sharing this with you.

We’re not trying to be experts. We’re not here to add to the noise. We simply want to process what God is teaching us, in real time, in the hope that it encourages you too.

Thanks for being here. We’re excited to walk this road together!
